Talking to some of DAWGs and Lady DAWGs this past week and we started to discuss what people are doing pre, during and post workouts.
This post is to assist in the decision making process on, "what, if any, supplements should I be taking?"
In this post we will look at one Company, to begin with. Let's not make it too overwhelming. Beverly International is the Company and they have been providing highly researched products for over 30 years to the LeanMuscle industry.
Let's start with the building block: UMP is one of the better protein choices. UMP is intended to be mixed with cold water, milk, or the beverage of your choice and consumed before and after exercise and at any other time of day in order to encourage greater gains in muscle mass, tone, strength, and performance, and reductions in body fat. Ultimate Muscle Protein is perfect in place of a meal, between meals, and after training. UMP is ideal before bed, as it feeds your muscles a timed released supply of aminos, keeping you in a positive nitrogen balance while you sleep.
A new product that Beverly has completed research with impressive results is Provosyn, another protein product. It's Ideal for mid to late 30s and up individuals seeking to lean down and harden up, reduce age-associated loss of muscle size and strength, or maximize muscular gains from workouts. High school, collegiate and professional athletes seeking to add muscular weight. As well as, dieters and physique competitors of all kinds seeking to trim body fat without losing muscle.
If you're looking for a pre-workout drink UpLift is a great choice for boosting those NO levels (nitricoxide) to help assist in recovery during the actual workout. It is a stimulant-free powdered drink mix that is intended to be mixed with water and consumed before and during training in order to sustain higher levels of mental and muscular output (performance) during resistance and cardiovascular forms of exercise. It combines a nitric oxide matrix (arginine and l-citrulline), an exercise performance matrix (beta-alanine, histidine, and betaine), and a mental acuity/energy matrix (l-tyrosine, rhodiola rosea, l-alanine and glycine).
Beverly International has a recovery drink that combines glutamine and BCAAs called Glutamine Select. This combination helps to eliminate fatigue in the muscles. By repleating the glycogen stores the muscles have the needed factors to properly process energy. It is a powdered drink mix consisting of the amino acids glutamine, leucine, isoleucine and valine. The latter three comprise the branched-chain amino acids (BCAA).
The following are a few of the auxiluary supplements that allow for maximum benefit with a fitness/nutritional plan. The first is a fat burner that is taken 20 minutes before to during a meal. Lean Out is an optimal fat transfer system that helps to burn more fat while building/retaining lean muscle. Second is 7 Keto Lean and it can be matched with Lean Out. It assits in improving metabolism by increasing the rate at which fat is burned and acting as an energy catalyst. Third is a product called Quadracarn and it assists in overall performance. Studies have revealed that the very same carnitine analogs found in QUADRACARN are capable of producing a total of at least 21 interconnected pharmacological actions that affect the way your body looks and performs, nerve and mitochondrial health, blood flow, NO, how quickly you age, insulin and testosterone effectiveness, cholesterol, hair loss, and much more. For best results use QUADRACARN three times daily: one serving (3 tablets) with meal one; one serving before training; and one serving with final meal (or before bed). Fourth is a mineral that is focused on recovery. ZMA 2000 is a zinc/magnesium product that supports nighttime recovery. Fifth and final is a multi vitamin pack that contains "SuperFoods" alfalfa, kelp and more; chelated minerals for greater bioavailability; 5 different digestive enzymes. Its perfect for hard-training athletes (reduce your risk of nutrient depletion), weight/fat loss diets (reduce your risk of nutrient depletion), and busy lifestyles (pre-sorted packets can be taken anywhere, anytime). And the results are summed up with an increase in energy, overall health and well-being.
I know it has been a lot of information to read and take in but there is one more supplement that is needed to be discussed in this post. As you can see all of the supplements that I have mentioned are from one company. So, as we progress to learn about more supplements (effort maximizers) we will discuss a few different product categories and manufacturers/suppliers. The final product is an age old supplement that got its start in old school body building gyms. Creatine Select is a scientifically advanced formulation combining the most studied, bioavailable and proven form of creatine in the world reinforced by β-alanine, electrolyte-bound phosphates and cinnamon bark extract. It is intended for use by men and women who work out with weights (resistance exercise) in an effort improve their physique; or who wishes to improve their performance in any other kind of high-intensity exercise such as mixed martial arts, sprinting, interval training, etc.
Now, crazily enough, all of these are or have been a part of my supplementation. All this says is that the information in this blog comes from experiential knowledge, first hand. I'm giving the information and not suggesting you to go and get all of these supplements and add them to your diet. But, these are great opportunities to MAXIMIZE your effort in the gym, track, field. This is the beginning of the next step that we can take. When we have dialed in our physical, through workouts and training, the natural progression is to move to nutrition and nutritional supplementation.
