Forth Coming...Remember is the act of applying past understanding to the present process.

Here in Virginia it is an incredible Sunny Sunday morning. Memorial Day weekend cookouts, family time, get togethers, etc...It's a time that we use to enjoy each others company. Memorial Day weekend is also a time for remembrance. A time to be thankful for those that gave their lives for us. Think about that, individuals that went into harms way with the knowledge that they likely will not return. And to top it off, they did it for others. I think this is a very worthy reason to take time to remember.  When you think about that you cannot help but be inspired.

So, the topic for today is Remember.  What comes to mind when you think about Remember? What types of things do you Remember? Bad things? Good things? All things? Try this one on for size...Do you ever confuse Remember and Relive?

First, lets define both terms.
"Remember": to recall to the mind by an act or effort of memory...to possess or exercise the faculty of memory.
"Relive" - to experience again, as an emotion...to live one's life again. So, if we are to remember we draw (recall) on a past event and use its application for a present or future event.

To relive implies that, once we remember the past event, we emotionally go back to that place and walk through the process all over.  Let's make this simple. To remember is to not forget how far we've come, so REMEMBER - Not relive, but Remember. Remembering gives us the ability to move forward, one step at a time. It reminds us of how far we've come and proves to us we CAN!

When we remember we remain looking forward but when we relive we turn and face the past, stopping any forward progress. So, when we know that our life is a process and we take time to remember how far we've come, then we can press in to this process, and let the preocess be responsible for our transformation.

The bottom line is that it is not our responsibility to create transformation. God has told, promised and shown us, that it is His job to transform.  All He asks of us is to trust the process and (He) takes care of the transformation. There's a saying that defines this very well: 'take care of the small stuff and the big stuff will take care of itself'  This idea is simple, but not always easy to walk through.

So, on this Memorial Day weekend remember where you've come from so that it will bring into perspective where you are going. Better yet, remember where God was and is faithful in your life. This will allow you to be who you are right now, where you are. To be who you were created to be. You have been created with the ability to move forward and God gives you remembrance to regain the confidence to continue to move forward by recalling where you started. How far you have indeed, come.

As you move forward realize that your abilities and giftings are being displayed for you and all that come into contact with you. You have been given so you can give. We are all in this together. Don't forget that the process has been written for you and your process has been divinely created. Your job is to accept it. Remember that you CAN and step in to the process that has given you a fresh outlook on our giftings and abilities.
